Davis & Company delivers gravel, topsoil, sand and fill dirt, and hauls away spoils, stumps and concrete across Perry, Howell, Brighton, Lansing, and Mid-Michigan. Free estimates available.
Material in the wrong place gets paid for twice. A spoil pile beside a new foundation settles into the lawn and blocks drainage, and a drive that needed a few loads of stone in the fall is ruts and standing water by March.
Davis & Company provides hauling services out of Perry for homeowners, farmers, builders and commercial property owners. We bring material in, take material out, and move equipment between sites with our own trucks, loader and crew.
We deliver the materials Mid-Michigan driveways, lanes and lots are built on: dense-graded gravel such as MDOT 22A, crushed limestone such as 21AA, crushed concrete and asphalt millings, plus screened topsoil, fill sand and clean fill dirt.
Tell us what the material is for and we’ll recommend the product and the tonnage before the truck is loaded.
We also haul off excavation spoils, stumps, brush, broken concrete and old asphalt, and we move skid steers, excavators and farm implements between sites. Every load leaves latched and covered, the way Michigan law requires.
A family-owned company delivering reliable excavation, land clearing, and property services across Mid-Michigan since 2015.
Built on hands-on experience and long-term relationships, serving the community with consistent, reliable work.
Trusted by farmers, contractors, homeowners, and commercial property managers for a wide range of projects.
We assess every job clearly, use the right equipment, and follow through until the work is fully complete.
Financing is available through our partner platform—just ask when you call or submit a request.
A delivery is often only half the job. Fill and topsoil only do their work once they’re spread, graded to drain and compacted, which is where our site prep and grading crew comes in. New stone on a drive with a broken-down base just washes out again, so driveway installation and improvement may be the better fix. Most haul-off jobs start as land clearing, and clearing and haul-off can run back to back with the same crew. Once topsoil is down, hydroseeding gets grass established fast.
We haul for homeowners, farmers, builders and commercial property owners throughout the region. Farm and commercial accounts can set up repeat loads of stone for barn lots, field lanes and parking areas on a schedule that fits the season.
Call or fill out our contact form with the material you need or the pile you want gone. Photos of the drop spot help us size the job.
We check truck access, turning room, overhead wires, soft ground and the septic field, then give you a written estimate.
We match the product to the job and work out the tonnage. In late winter we check county weight restrictions first.
Loads go out latched and covered. We dump where you marked, then walk the area with you before the last truck leaves.
Based in Perry, Michigan, we serve homes, farms and businesses within about 20–25 miles, including Owosso, Laingsburg, Williamston, Fowlerville, Okemos, Lansing, Howell, Linden, Fenton and Flushing. For larger jobs we travel farther, including Brighton. Not sure if we come to you? Give us a call and we’ll let you know.
It depends on the material, the tonnage, how far it travels and whether we dump or spread it. Haul-off depends on what’s in the pile and where it has to go. We’ll give you a written estimate after we’ve seen the site.
Multiply length by width by depth in feet and divide by 27 for cubic yards. A 300-foot drive, 10 feet wide, topped with 3 inches of stone is about 28 cubic yards. We confirm the tonnage at the estimate.
Yes. Spoils, stumps, brush, broken concrete and old asphalt are common loads for us. We load with our own machines and take each material to a site that accepts it, or use clean dirt as fill on your property when that saves the haul.
Usually, but each truck carries less. Each spring, Michigan road agencies restrict weight on roads that aren’t rated all-season, so spring orders can take extra trips. Ordering before or after the restriction window is often cheaper.
A loaded dump truck is heavy, so we choose a drop spot that can hold it and keep off septic fields and soft lawn. We’ll reschedule a delivery after heavy rain instead of rutting your yard.
Not for most small residential jobs. In Michigan, disturbing an acre or more, or any earth change within 500 feet of a lake or stream, generally needs a Part 91 soil erosion permit. We’ll flag it at the estimate.
We understand that outdoor and site work can be a significant investment. We do offer financing options — ask us about it when you reach out and we’ll walk you through what’s available.
